Internet Based Artificial Intelligence: Second Generation Internet

Image
This paper presents a range of ideas about internet based artificial intelligence, whether it’s possible, whether it is already conscious, given its size and complexity and if not how we might build an internet based artificial intelligence, including suggested architecture, applications and management of an AI system. Also the political aspects and ideas for the future of internet AI. http://www.vagabond-unlimited.co.uk/#!internet-based-ai/c42i

Time to Run a Weird Experiment.

I have seen a lot of strange and amazing things in my life time, most of which nobody would believe if I told them and provided evidence that they happened. However, it is time to run a weird experiment - my favourite kind. I do not get many hits on this blog or my website. In fact I doubt whether real people actually visit my blog and Vagabond Unlimited site. I suspect it is bots crawling for email addresses and vulnerabilities in code. In the last couple of days I have written two articles about Internet based Artificial Intelligence ( please visit the site to learn more ). So, I am now running an experiment to ask the Internet to give us a sign that it is alive. Here's what I am doing: I suspect that the Internet either is, should be or will be conscious, as a kind of Artificial Intelligence. I have written two articles, which I have made available on my website: http://www.vagabond-unlimited.co.uk . I will also upload a pdf version of the two articles, onto Google Docs. In th

Should the Internet Be Conscious?

Given what neuroscience says about human consciousness, and given the emmense size of the internet, should there be early signs of artificial intelligence, on the internet? It is a complex question, involving what makes up human consciousness. Neuroscience says that consciousness is created by the sum of all the working parts of the brain, that the 84 billion or so brain neurons collectively create consciousness - the illusion of free will, creative thought and the feelings of being alive - having a soul, is just a function of many parts working together. If this were true, then the many parts of the internet, which far outnumber those of the human brain, should be able to think for itself. However, it is the way in which those parts developed, what there functions are and where they are in relation to everything else that determines consciousness. The internet without creative ability, or communication from it to us, cannot therefore become conscious, merely by being made up of many p
